From Startup To Scale
In 2019, founder Kirk Hutchinson came to realize that sugar and foods high in carbohydrates were not his friend. A trip to the doctor returned with the diagnosis of diabetes and something called dumping syndrome. I was no longer able to induldge in sugary treats as my body just couln't process it any longer. Determined to find alternatives, I bought countless low carb treats that promised to be delicious but usually left my taste buds unhappy. So, I started making my own. Little did I know, so many others felt disappointed with the alternatives most have tried in your local grocery store. I called up my friend Chavez, an experienced restaurant manager & culinary chef, and pitched the idea to start a bakery. The next day, the idea for Power of the Almond was born and we got to work.
Under cottage food laws, we began baking out of our home treats that would be sugar free but tasted just as good if not better than the unhealthy options...a sugar free cookie without the nasty aftertaste of artificial sugar thanks to something called Monk Fruit. As an added bonus, we’d also make it gluten-free but nearly impossible to tell. A double win for not only health conscious eaters but celiacs and diabetics as well.
With your support, we’ve expanded from our home kitchen to now having a commercial bakery in the state of Mississippi and products in over 65 grocery stores and boutiques across the State. As we grow, we’re dedicated to constantly developing new recipes and making improvements along the way.

Conversely, almond flour is low in carbs yet high in healthy fats and fiber. These properties give it a low glycemic index, meaning it releases sugar slowly into your blood to provide a sustained source of energy. We use almond flour in every single recipe, hence the name Power of the Almond.

Wheat flours contain a protein called gluten. It helps dough stay stretchy and capture air during baking so that it rises and becomes fluffy. People who have celiac disease or a wheat intolerance can’t eat foods with gluten or wheat because their body mistakes it as a threat. For these individuals, the body produces an autoimmune response to remove gluten from the body.
We’ve eliminated wheat flour from all our recipes so that those living with celiac disease can finally have something of their own that doesn't sacrifice taste. Although almond flour doesn’t rise like traditional flour, we’ve recipe tested over and over again to replicate similar final products to those that do contain wheat flour. The results are impeccable.

We aim to impress with every recipe that comes out of our oven. If, at any time, you receive your goodies and aren’t satisfied with the quality of our baked goods, we will gladly refund you for the amount of your items, minus shipping costs. Please note, we are a gluten free bakery that uses almond flour in every recipe we make. Those with nut allergies unfortunately cannot enjoy our goodies. Allergens are listed on each item page to help ensure that everything we make is safe for you to eat.
Our facility is 100% dedicated gluten free. Note that items are made in a kitchen that contains soy, peanuts, coconut, milk, eggs, pecans, and walnuts. Although we bake each batch individually and have an allergen policy in place, those with severe allergies to the ingredients listed above should make a note while placing their order.
Damages and Issues
Please inspect your order upon receipt and contact us immediately if the item is damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we may evaluate the issue and make it right.We will notify you once we’ve received your request for a refund. Once received, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 2 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.
